Pouring from a Full Cup

Meet Trishna, she is a newly appointed member of the Cultivate Vibrance Advisory Board. She is the founder of @thereleaseprogram. Share an achievement from your leadership journey: One achievement I’m thankful for is having the opportunity to curate a wellness workshop for 200 black girls and women. I’ve never been a person who loved public speaking (still have my anxious moments) but I was definitely encouraged and pushed by friends to start working on my fears and leading a workshop for 200 plus women definitely helped with that.

What are you learning about yourself and God in this season? I’ve learned and continue to learn that I can be pretty inpatient but I try to remind myself that God’s timeline is so different from mine. He knows what I need and when I need it. I try my best to remember that.

What does it mean to you to be well, live with authenticity and live vibrantly? Being well and living vibrant life, while being authentic in our leadership is so important. For me that means if I’m not attending to my emotional, physical and spiritual needs, it will be hard for me serve others and lead well. Before I pour into others, I pray that I’m checking with myself to make sure I’m well.

How are you investing in others through your leadership? Through our women of social work program, I’m intentional about spending time with black women who are studying to become social workers or are social workers already in the field. While the cadence is quarterly, I appreciate the time spent with other women who are striving to live well lives while working in mental health.
